Addressing both the intake and exhaust, the ‘Spitfire’ Stage 1 kit maximises air flow to give a significant power increase.

The carbon composite air filter cover is a unique design for the Morgan 3 Wheeler, with revised profile and unique chin scoop, inspired by the legendary WW2 ‘Supermarine Spitfire’ fighter plane.  It’s not just for looks: the design gives a real power gain.  The larger opening and curved scoop carefully channel air directly into the air filter, with a larger diameter body than the standard item to better distribute the airflow across the filter.  Badging may vary from pictured.

The stainless steel exhausts, utilising free flowing straight-through absorption chambers, maintain the look of the original parts with a subtle design twist.  The resulting sound is deeper and more mellow than the standard exhaust.

Garage 56 has addressed the issue of cracking exhaust systems: uniquely the Garage 56 exhaust features a flexible joint just ahead of the silencer body.  This vastly improves the isolation of the silencer from the vibration of the engine.

The kit comes complete with new stainless steel mounting brackets and fasteners.

The results are impressive, with an independently tested 16bhp improvement to peak power & a 21ftlb increase in torque on an otherwise standard test car.

Kits can be sent direct to the customer, or a customers preferred fitting agent.  

Please note, the exhausts are designed for EU3 cars with the newer, larger, exhaust bobbins as shown in the fitting instructions.  For pre-2014 M3W cars, please order 1 kit of mounting bobbins here. EU4 cars may require additional parts (including single cat EU3 headers and EU3 style air intake mounting) depending on their specification.  Please contact us before ordering if you have an EU4 car.

Is the Stage 1 Kit compatible with 2014 models
In short, YES. The 2014 edition addressed issues with the chassis, overheating and suspension, but not the engine.

Does the stage 1 kit require upgrading the brakes
We have found the factory fitted brakes to be adequate. However, with the engine producing more power and revving more freely, you may well find yourself driving faster than you used to. Be alert to signs such as brake fade.

Do we fit the Stage 1 Kits?
Garage 56 kits are available direct from Williams Automobiles, who can fit them to your car. Of course, they are available directly from us, for you arrange fitment yourself: the job of fitment can be done by any reasonably competent “home mechanic”.
If ordering from our website, there is the option of a delivery address different to your billing address, useful if you want to have the Stage 1 kit delivered directly to a garage or workshop. Fitting Instructions

Brooklands?
You will need to use your existing hexagonal base AV (anti-vibration) mounts. If your car is fitted with the old specification round section AV mounts, we recommend you acquire a set of the later specification AV’s from your Morgan parts supplier.
